Oh, my! It is the 1st and I was supposed to have some papers in by the end of May and I didn't make it.
And, I can't believe it has been so long since I have posted - 2 years! So much has happened.
More than I can try to catch up with today. I will try and catch up as i go along and think of things.
For example.... I had a heart attack last year. August 27th, 2013.
But I digress. Today has been a most fruitful day. I haven't been able to do anything except sleep and watch TV for a very long time, due to my lack of energy and my breathing, but today I accomplished a lot for me. I made home made vegetable soup, I cleaned out my canned food cupboard and made it all nice and neat. It made me feel useful and like I did get a lot accomplished.
One thing that happened this last year that truly crushed me is that my darling Chicky died. He became ill in March of 2013 and died in my hands the next day. It was one of the hardest things I have ever been through was losing him.
I got another GC named Charlie Brown. He is about a year old. Today he climbed the curtains behind me which he has never done before, but then he jumped into the top pf the floor lamp! Thankfully the light wasn't on, but he kept looking at me as if to say he didn't know how to get down. I kept trying to prod him by saying, "Jump, Charlie Brown! Jump!". He was too afraid; the distance was more than he had ever jumped before. I waited about 5-10 minutes and asked him again and again and on the last attempt, I said, "Jump, Charlie! You can do it! Trust mommy! I will catch you mid air!" and I couldn't believe it, but it was as if he really understood me and he took a flying leap and I caught him midair! It was so neat. He trusted me and I caught him. Such a satisfying experience with my baby and me.
Well, I have other things to do: clean up some excess papers, catch up my calendar, and take care of the babies.
See you later!

Birthday tomorrow. Musings tonight
Today is May14th. It was my aunt Vi's birthday, but like so many others who made up our family, she, too, is gone.
This has been a sad few days. Mother's Day was very sad this year. Mom has been gone for going on three years now.
A good friend's husband died on the 11th. How she will manage without him, I don't know but I do know that God will watch over her. Like me, she has MS. It won't be easy. And emotionally I know she is crushed. Marv was her best friend and beloved husband.
Claudia, from Claudia's Bird Nest died this morning of Cancer.
Tomorrow is my 60th birthday. God has been so unbelievably good to me. My biological family (5 siblings) don't like or love anything about me. I truly do NOT know why. I have begged them to tell me why it seems that they hate me. They refuse.
So much sickness, dying and death. It really gets to me.
A long time online friend asked me if I wanted to be his book agent. Well, I really don't know what I am doing but how can I refuse? I am or was, a writer myself and I love anything to do with writing.
I am signing off for now.

Catching up 2012 May 13th
Wow. I am about to give my television up for awhile. I feel certain that I will have plenty of things to keep me busy (Bible study, devotionals, regular reading, working on one of my books and now taking on a job as proof reader, editor, agent for a friend).
However, I decided I wanted to do a blog again. then I remembered that I already HAD a blog. But I was so shocked that this one is almost 5 years old and I haven't been back in all that time.
Well, it's a new day and I am back!! I will be posting at least every few days but hope to do it every day. Not sure why this part looks so boring. Maybe I'll need to change the theme or something. Okay, enough for tonight..... V.

July 5th, 2007
I'm posting an update. Maybe no one will read it, but since essentially I am doing this blog for me that's ok.
I have lost 9.5 more pounds for a total as of a year ago today of 82 pounds.
Mr. Betta died yesterday. It was very sad. I cried like a baby. Lots of people would say it was just a fish. But it wasn't to me. He was given to me by someone I care deeply about, so there was the sentimental part of the loss. I had Mr. Betta for a year and he was a truly beautiful Betta fish with his own personality. No matter who or what, human or animal, big or small, when the breath of life leaves a being, I think it is very sad. It always seems so.... final.
I hope God has a very large aquarium and Mr. Betta is up there with Him swimming around happily. I Hope.

New post 2-23-07
I have had a really rough time the last few months.
Back in November, I convinced myself that I could take 2 days "off" of eating low carb for Thanksgiving.
Maybe some could, but not me.
Oh, no. I forgot (or was in denial of) the fact that I have an alcoholic, addictive personality.
I struggled to get back on track, but then Christmas came and..... oh. Now I'm crying. I gained about 20 pounds back. Oh, God, how I hated that! I hated the way it made me feel, physically and emotionally. I swore I wouldn't do it and I DID!
It was hell. Pure hell. Every single day I fought to get my carbs back down. Every day for awhile (too long!) I failed. I gave up logging them for almost two weeks. That was even worse. That was way more dangerous for me. No accountability at all.
I yelled, I cried, I was furious, I prayed. I begged God to help me. Nothing seemed to be working.
Finally. Oh, yes.... finally I was reigning in the carbs. I waited a few more weeks. Then I went to get weighed. Judgement time. I needed to find out whatever it was, the good, the bad, or the ugly.
I lost all of whatever I had gained back and 12.5 more pounds!!! Praise God. I did it!
I'm finding out that this is a lifelong struggle. This is NEVER going to be easy for me. I've accepted that. We all have our "crosses to bear" in this life and obviously this is one of mine.
Seventy pounds.
Who would have thought it?
